Important Rattlesnake Vaccine Update as May 20, 2025

You may have already seen some information about the rattlesnake vaccine circulating online or on the news, but we wanted to provide you with an update for what this will mean for your pet moving forward. The USDA has recently chosen not to renew the licensing for the Crotalus Atrox Toxoid rattlesnake vaccine.

For the safety and wellbeing of our patients, we will no longer be administering the rattlesnake vaccine.  At the moment, there are no alternative vaccines that we can recommend. We understand that there is a definite risk of rattlesnake exposure in our area, so we strongly recommend rattlesnake aversion training in lieu of the rattlesnake vaccine.

We recommend a company called Get Rattled.  Our company has worked with them to host classes at several other hospital locations. We trust their training and we have heard great feedback from the owners as well. They have a calendar of scheduled dates on their site, and you do not need to be established with other facilities to attend the events being held. You can sign up for the courses on the Get Rattled site.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us for more information.
